Baseball Recap: Cortez's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Moon Valley, Cortez was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Coronado Dons with a sharp 16-6 win. The Colts not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024.

Andre Shepard was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Aeryk Snyder also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Cortez always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Cortez moved to 2-7-1 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Coronado, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Coronado beat Cortez by a score of 12-11 on Thursday.
