Basketball Recap: Newman Grove/St. Edward Drops Highest Score of Season Against Palmer

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Guardian Angels Central Catholic, Newman Grove/St. Edward was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Palmer Tigers as they made off with a 62-36 win. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Newman Grove/St. Edward found their leader in sophomore Parker Fitchner, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fitchner has scored all season. Ryan Cumming was another key player, putting up ten points and seven boards.

Newman Grove/St. Edward was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Newman Grove/St. Edward's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Palmer, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
