Softball Recap: Tate Comes Up Short

Milton hit Tate with a six-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Aggies fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 9-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in March.

Kara Wine was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Kinzlee Biggs also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Tate dropped their record down to 7-11 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Milton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tate will head out to challenge Fort Walton Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Aggies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Milton, they will face off against Pine Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
