Basketball Recap: Dunbar Takes a Loss

Dunbar played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 49-29 to the North Fort Myers Red Knights. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while the Red Knights are ranked 203rd).

North Fort Myers got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bianca Iten out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on ten points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. Iten is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Amrey Stockeland was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Dunbar has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for North Fort Myers, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunbar has already played their next match (against Golden Gate), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Fort Myers will take on Cape Coral at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cape Coral will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something North Fort Myers surely won't give up without a fight.
