Softball Recap: Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran's victory against Cochrane-Fountain City wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lancers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Pirates on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Lancers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Rachel Kazemba made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Reagan Oman was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Gabi Radichel, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Cochrane-Fountain City, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran will be playing at home against Independence/Gilmanton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Cochrane-Fountain City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
