Softball Recap: Five Straight Road Wins for West Rutland

West Rutland had won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they bumped their record up to 4-0 to make it six. They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over the Windsor Yellowjackets. Fans of the Golden Horde have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

As for Windsor, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.

For Windsor's part, Cassie Clark made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Clark's first of the season.

Looking ahead, West Rutland will head out on the road to square off against Woodstock at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Windsor, they will host Thetford Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
