Preview: Mitchell Tigers vs. Bishop Neumann Cavaliers

Mitchell is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Bishop Neumann is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mitchell Tigers will take on the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mitchell put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-20 victory over Gordon-Rushville on the road.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mitchell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cael Peters, who rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only five passes. Santi Castillo was another key contributor, gaining 157 total yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Bishop Neumann owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top against Aquinas by a score of 12-0.

Conor Booth continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 270 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Booth hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games.

Mitchell is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Bishop Neumann, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Mitchell has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 341.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bishop Neumann struggles in that department as they've been averaging 303 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
