Basketball Recap: Killian Comes Up Short

Killian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southwest Eagles. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 57-41 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Killian still got an impressive performance from Derico Taylor, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. Taylor's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Christian Torres was another key player, putting up 16 points and eight rebounds.

Killian's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Southwest, they pushed their record up to 3-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Killian and South Miami will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Killian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. As for Southwest, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against JC Bermudez Doral at 7:30 p.m.
