Baseball Game Preview: North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers vs. Frankfort Hot Dogs

For the second straight game, North Montgomery will face off against Frankfort. The Chargin' Chargers will venture away from home to challenge the Hot Dogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Montgomery is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

North Montgomery managed to slip by Frankfort the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Chargin' Chargers came up short against the Hot Dogs on Tuesday, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Chargin' Chargers have suffered against the Hot Dogs since April 26, 2022.

For Frankfort's part, they let Lalo Castillo and Matthew Berry run wild. Castillo went a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Berry went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Berry a new career-high. Chino Valdes-Mejia also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Frankfort always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Montgomery only posted an OBP of .321.

The win (which was Frankfort's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for North Montgomery, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.
