Softball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

Lamar's last matchup with Liberal could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. The Tigers lost 18-6 to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in March.

Peyton Eddie was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Lexy Stephen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

With the defeat, Lamar broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5. As for Liberal, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Lamar has already played their next contest, a 13-12 win against Varsity Opponent on the 18th. As for Liberal, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-1 victory against Archie on the 22nd.
