Volleyball Recap: Trey Winters' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Centerville over Lakota East

Centerville lost against Lakota East back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Elks fell just short of the Thunderhawks by a score of 3-2.

Centerville wouldn't go down easily and took Lakota East into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-18, 25-18, 26-28, 15-10.

Centerville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Trey Winters, who had 20 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Adam Wasik, who had 11 digs and one assist.

Centerville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lakota East, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Centerville has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Wayne on the 27th. As for Lakota East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Taylor on the 27th.
