Softball Recap: Janesville Parker Takes a Loss

Janesville Parker came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Waunakee Warriors, falling 8-2.

Lilly Keller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kenedi Pryne made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Donnavee Kong also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Janesville Parker's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Waunakee, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.

Coming up, Janesville Parker is taking a road trip to challenge Verona at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Waunakee, they will host Milton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Warriors' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Red Hawks have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
