Softball Recap: Crivitz Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Crivitz had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Gillett on Thursday. The Wolverines never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Taryn Tracy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Izzy Wesoloski was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Hattie Frievalt was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.

Crivitz kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 11-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win (which was Crivitz's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Gillett, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Crivitz will venture away from home to take on Coleman at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Gillett, they will face off against Rosholt at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
