Baseball Game Preview: Crestwood Red Devils vs. Cardinal Huskies

The Crestwood Red Devils will take on the Cardinal Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Crestwood, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Crestwood needed a bit of extra time to put away Rootstown. They had just enough and edged out the Rovers 4-3.

Crestwood's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Michael McCulloch, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Michael Kalista was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cardinal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Huskies' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Crestwood's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Cardinal, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Everything went Crestwood's way against Cardinal when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Crestwood made off with an 11-2 win. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
