Basketball Game Preview: Maywood Academy Nighthawks vs. Banning Pilots

The Maywood Academy Nighthawks will square off against the Banning Pilots at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Banning took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Maywood Academy, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Maywood Academy turned things around against Maywood CES on Thursday. They blew past the Wolfpack 62-37. The Nighthawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Rodrigo Miranda, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more assists the last 20 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Luis ALEGRIA, who went 5 for 11 en route to 10 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, Banning lost to Gardena at home by a 46-30 margin on Friday. The Pilots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maywood Academy's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8. As for Banning, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
