Football Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Chargers vs. Escambia Academy Cougars

Jackson Moore produced another solid effort rushing for 340 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry. Those 340 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Another reason for the win was Cornerstone Christian's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. Grant Standifer refused to say out of the backfield, picking up five sacks all by himself. He was another major factor on D, picking up five sacks and making ten total tackles (6.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Escambia Academy faced Snook Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 56-8. Considering the Cougars have won ten games by more than 24 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cornerstone Christian's record is now 9-2. As for Escambia Academy, their record now sits at 10-1.

Cornerstone Christian was dealt a bruising 42-14 defeat at the hands of Escambia Academy when the teams last played back in October. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
