Recap: Gulf Breeze Dolphins vs. Pine Forest Eagles
If the Gulf Breeze Dolphins were feeling good off their 63-30 takedown of the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Gulf Breeze fell to Pine Forest 60-54. Gulf Breeze was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pine Forest apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Gulf Breeze lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Hutson Rowe. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rowe has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick O'Grady, who scored eight points.
Gulf Breeze's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Pine Forest, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Fort Walton Beach the next time they take the court. Gulf Breeze will host Fort Walton Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Pine Forest will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
