Baseball Game Preview: Elkhorn North Wolves vs. Norris Titans

The Elkhorn North Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Norris Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Elkhorn North is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Elkhorn North is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Gretna East, who was ranked 19th at the time (Elkhorn North was ranked 24th). The Wolves fell 4-0 to the Griffins on Saturday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Norris didn't have quite enough to beat Waverly on Friday and fell 6-4. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Norris got a good showing from JT Druba, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Druba has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Norris saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alec Small, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Another was Ashton Monroe, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Elkhorn North's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Norris, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.

Elkhorn North beat Norris 8-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
