Baseball Game Preview: Arrowhead Christian Eagles vs. Ontario Christian Knights

The Arrowhead Christian Eagles will square off against the Ontario Christian Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arrowhead Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Ontario Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Arrowhead Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Beaumont on Saturday. Arrowhead Christian was the clear victor by an 11-3 margin over Beaumont. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Ethan Estrada made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two).

In other batting news, Daniel Rivera was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Tyler Young, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Arrowhead Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Ontario Christian fell victim to Rancho Cucamonga and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Cougars. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

The win got Arrowhead Christian back to even at 7-7. As for Ontario Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Arrowhead Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Ontario Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Does Arrowhead Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ontario Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
