Softball Recap: Severna Park Falcons vs. Northeast Eagles

Severna Park had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-10 to make it five. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northeast Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 back in March.

As for Northeast, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-1. Their pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

For Northeast's part, Severna Park's batters probably weren't too happy with Presley McGinty, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up a single walk). McGinty has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brynn Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Severna Park will take on rival Annapolis at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Northeast is set to challenge their familiar foe Southern at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
