Basketball Recap: North Lenoir Skates Past East Duplin with Ease

North Lenoir hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They blew past the East Duplin Panthers 71-39 on Tuesday. That looming 71-39 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hawks yet this season.

When it comes to explaining why East Duplin lost, don't look at Calvin Harper. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 14 on his way to 18 points. Sawyer Whaley also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

North Lenoir's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for East Duplin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

North Lenoir will look to defend their home court on Thursday against James Kenan at 7:00 p.m. North Lenoir has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
