Byron had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Winona Winhawks as they made off with a 13-2 win. Tallie Behrens made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Behrens was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Byron got a massive performance out of Kaydence Fjerstad, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Fjerstad has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Leeah Strain, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Byron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Byron's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Winona, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
