The Archangels Catholic Defenders will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Plainview Pirates at 7:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Archangels Catholic wound up with the same score they had in their last game (2-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Archangels Catholic might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Newman Grove/St. Edward: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Archangels Catholic had strong showings from Nyla Kessler, who had 14 digs, and Jayda Krings, who had seven digs and two aces. Kessler is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had four or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Plainview can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Creighton.

After all that action, the final score was 25-23, 25-16, 15-25, 25-16.

Archangels Catholic now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Plainview, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
