Baseball Game Preview: Gonzaga Prep Bullpups vs. Hanford Falcons

The Gonzaga Prep Bullpups will venture away from home to take on the Hanford Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Gonzaga Prep had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Seattle Prep on Saturday. Gonzaga Prep was the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Seattle Prep.

Jacob Wilson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Jimmy Grainger was a standout: he scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jaden Sarto was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Falcons on Saturday. Hanford beat Ridgeline by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-7.

Gonzaga Prep's record is now 2-0. As for Hanford, their record now sits at an identical 2-0.

Gonzaga Prep took their victory against Hanford when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gonzaga Prep since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
