Baseball Recap: Grantsville Has No Trouble Against South Summit

Grantsville had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt South Summit on Tuesday. Grantsville blew past South Summit 11-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cowboys also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Easton Webb made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton Cummings, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Patton Rose also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Grantsville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Summit struck out ten times.

Grantsville's record is now 3-5. As for South Summit, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Grantsville will have a chance to go back-to-back against South Summit: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
