Softball Recap: Banning Has No Trouble Against Chatsworth

Banning owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Chatsworth Chancellors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pilots also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2016.

Lilly Devora tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Victoria Guerra was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sharon Su'e, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Banning was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Banning now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Chatsworth, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Banning wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-0 win against Rancho Dominguez on the 13th. As for Chatsworth, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Glendora on the 11th.
