Basketball Recap: Clovis Christian Starts Season with Victory Against Amherst

Clovis Christian took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They strolled past the Amherst Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 43-26. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Reece Robb was a one-woman wrecking crew as she shot 75% from the field to rack up 13 points along with five boards and four steals. Those 13 points gave her a new career-high. Madisyn Kruckeberg was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to 11 rebounds and three steals.

Amherst's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Clovis Christian is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Carrizozo at 5:00 p.m. on December 3. As for Amherst, they will head out to square off against Post at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
