Ranallo Arianna was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Hymans Bri was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Libertyville waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly three runs.
Taylor Higham made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over 5.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Mckenna Weaver was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Libertyville pushed their record up to 19-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.
