Baseball Game Preview: Bristol Panthers vs. Conneaut Spartans

The Bristol Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Conneaut Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Bristol's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. John on Wednesday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Conneaut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to Jefferson Area.

Conneaut saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chetti Arcaro, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Bristol's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Conneaut, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.

Everything went Bristol's way against Conneaut in their previous meeting back in April, as Bristol made off with a 14-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
