Basketball Recap: Van Buren Comes Up Short

Van Buren was the 51-48 winner over Farmington when they last played one another back in December of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Van Buren Pointers fell 58-47 to the Farmington Cardinals on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Pointers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Cardinals are ranked eighth).

Van Buren has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Farmington, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Van Buren has already played their next contest (against Greenwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Farmington Cardinals duke it out with the Siloam Springs Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
