Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Warwick

Warwick came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado a 10-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Kate Shaak looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Katie Heisey, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Isabelle Heagy also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Warwick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as J.P. McCaskey only posted a batting average of .000.

Warwick pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for J.P. McCaskey, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Warwick has already played their next match, an 8-5 win against Penn Manor on the 16th. As for J.P. McCaskey, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-1 loss against Hempfield on the 16th.
