Softball Recap: Indian Springs Takes a Loss

Indian Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 23-8 to the Pahranagat Valley Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunderbirds of the 16-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Peighton Nield stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana Torneskog, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Nield wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Indian Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Indian Springs' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Pahranagat Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pahranagat Valley beat Indian Springs by a score of 21-3 later that day.
