Softball Recap: North Arlington Takes a Loss

Teaneck hit North Arlington with a four-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highwaymen.

Cadence Mansfield put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. Mansfield was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Isabella Buccheri made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Lyndsay Gilbert was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

North Arlington's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Teaneck, their record now sits at 8-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Arlington will welcome Secaucus at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Teaneck, they will challenge Saddle Brook at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
