Baseball Game Preview: Campbell County Camels vs. Lafayette Generals

The Campbell County Camels are taking a road trip to challenge the Lafayette Generals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Campbell County will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

If Campbell County beats Lafayette with four runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Camels didn't even let Conner on the board on Thursday, marking the Camels' second-straight 4-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Lafayette hadn't done well against Tates Creek recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Generals skirted past the Commodores 6-4.

Campbell County's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-9-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Lafayette, their record now sits at 21-13.

Campbell County couldn't quite get it done against Lafayette in their previous meeting back in June of 2021 as they fell 10-5. Can the Camels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
