Baseball Recap: Green Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Green lost to Fairview last Tuesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Bobcats walked away with a 6-2 win over the Eagles.

Jonathan Knapp made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Blake Smith and Kase McIntyre did most of the damage at the plate: Smith got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run, while McIntyre went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that McIntyre has hit this season.

Green is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Fairview, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-11 record.

Looking ahead, Green will be playing at home against Glenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairview, they will head out to square off against Tolsia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
