Basketball Recap: Faribault Comes Up Short

Faribault was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Austin Packers 91-60. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Packers are ranked 42nd).

Faribault's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Austin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Faribault is taking a road trip to square off against Winona at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Faribault is facing Winona at the right time seeing as Winona is stuck on a 20-game losing streak. As for Austin, they will challenge Mayo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mayo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matches -- so hopefully Austin likes a good challenge.
