Basketball Recap: South Broward Bulldogs vs. Monarch Knights
South Broward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 79-66 to the Monarch Knights. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (60), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.
Monarch had a senior duo take command as Benjamin Boutin almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds and Kayden Williams went 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points along with six boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boutin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Eric Hammond, who went 5 for 9 en route to 12 points and eight boards.
South Broward's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Monarch, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season.
South Broward is taking a road trip to square off against Flanagan at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th. As for Monarch, they will challenge Coconut Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
