            Baseball Recap: Mayfield Cardinals vs. Fulton County Pilots        
        
		
        
        
            Mayfield entered their tilt with Fulton County on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Pilots with a sharp  13-3 win. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Pilots  last Friday, they had to take a  7-6  loss.

 Landon Beggs spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Mayfield's success: when he allows at  most three  earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Kyler Simpson, who  scored two  runs and  stole four bases while going 3-for-4.  Tucker Dunn was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-2.
 Mayfield  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .529. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
The  victory  got Mayfield back to even at 3-3. As for Fulton County, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 2-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mayfield will host Hickman County  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Fulton County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Community Christian  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
