Meanwhile, North Raleigh Christian Academy posted their closest victory since November 21, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-45 win over New Life Camp.
North Raleigh Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Durham Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brennen Jefferson, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of North Raleigh Christian Academy's points. Tristan Thompson was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.
Durham Academy has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Durham Academy has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like North Raleigh Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
