Baseball Game Preview: Davis Darts vs. Weber Warriors

For the second straight game, Davis will face off against Weber. The Darts will be playing at home against the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Davis' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five games.

On Wednesday, Davis got the win against Weber by a conclusive 16-3. The Darts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Tanner Jensen looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Trigg Wimmer was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Davis: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 7-9 otherwise. Mitch Ossmen was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

Davis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in six consecutive matchups.

Davis has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Weber, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Weber's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Davis has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Weber, though, as they've been averaging 9.9 hits. Given Davis' sizable advantage in that area, the Warriors will need to find a way to close that gap.
