Softball Game Preview: Christian Heritage Academy Knights vs. Temple Christian Crusaders

The Christian Heritage Academy Knights will take on the Temple Christian Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Christian Heritage Academy lost 25-10 to Varsity Opponent on Tuesday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Reese McDonald made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Temple Christian came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Red Jackets with a sharp 13-6 win. Considering the Crusaders have won five games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Reagan Hensley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sadie Forster, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Paylin Harris, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Temple Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Christian Heritage Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
