It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but New Paltz ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Saugerties Sawyers, sneaking past 70-68. The win was familiar territory for the Huguenots who have now won ten contests in a row.

Despite the loss, Saugerties still got an impressive performance from Jack Parisio, who went 15 for 24 to rack up 32 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Parisio a new career-high in shooting accuracy (63%). Another player making a difference was Mccoy Rothe, who posted 15 points and six boards.

New Paltz pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Saugerties, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, New Paltz will be playing in front of their home fans against Wallkill at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Saugerties, they have already played their next game, a 47-28 defeat against Marlboro Central on the 11th.
