Baseball Recap: Frostproof Bulldogs vs. Fort Meade Miners
Frostproof was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fort Meade Miners. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Miners from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.
Colton Paulk was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Landon Fuller also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Frostproof's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Fort Meade, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frostproof will face off against Avon Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fort Meade, they will challenge Mulberry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Miners 3.7, the Panthers 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
