Baseball Game Preview: Southridge Skyhawks vs. Mountainside Mavericks

Southridge hasn't had much luck against Mountainside recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Skyhawks will square off against the Mavericks at 5:00 p.m. Southridge has given up an average of 9.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Southridge came up short against Sprague on Thursday, falling 17-4.

Jackson Cobb made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.

Meanwhile, Mountainside hadn't done well against Sunset recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Mavericks skirted past the Apollos 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mavericks.

Southridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Mountainside, their record now sits at 8-9-1.

Southridge couldn't quite finish off Mountainside in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 and fell 8-6. Can the Skyhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
