The Charleston Math & Science Riptide entered their tilt with the Military Magnet Academy Eagles with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Charleston Math & Science rang in the new year with a 53-40 win over Military Magnet Academy on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Charleston Math & Science also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Tyler Simmons was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points. Another player making a difference was Zion King, who scored nine points.
Charleston Math & Science is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Military Magnet Academy, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charleston Math & Science will take on Baptist Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Military Magnet Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cross at 8:30 p.m. Hopefully Cross focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
