Softball Recap: Grant Snags 11th Win in Last 14 Games

Grant barely beat Chippewa Hills the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers blew past the Warriors 20-1 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 14 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Payton Shoemaker made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Grant got a massive performance out of Addison Herrmann, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Alexa Obenauf was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Grant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Grant is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Chippewa Hills, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-13.

Grant will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair will be back at it again later today.
