Baseball Recap: Hollidaysburg Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Hollidaysburg entered their tilt with Tyrone on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 6-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Golden Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Hollidaysburg got a great performance from Vince Boland as he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Boland a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Josh Banks was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Gibbons, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

Hollidaysburg's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Tyrone, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Hollidaysburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-2 loss against Altoona on the 12th. As for Tyrone, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-1 win against Portage on the 12th.
