Football Recap: Smithtown West Wins Going Away Against Hauppauge

Smithtown West won the last time they faced Hauppauge and things went their way on Saturday too. Smithtown West was the clear victor by a 28-7 margin over Hauppauge. Given Smithtown West's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Hauppauge is ranked 233rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Smithtown West has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points this season. As for Hauppauge, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.
