Basketball Recap: Olivia Carlson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Centre over Canton-Galva

Centre lost against Canton-Galva back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The game between the Centre Cougars and the Canton-Galva Eagles didn't end well, with the Centre Cougars falling 58-39. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Centre lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Olivia Carlson, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 15 points and six boards. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Jones, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Centre's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Canton-Galva, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Centre didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 37-21 victory against Solomon on the 17th. As for Canton-Galva, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-28 win against Lincoln on the 17th.
