Volleyball Recap: Ripley Comes Up Short

Ripley lost against Winfield back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Ripley had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19.

Addison Howery paced Ripley's offense, picking up eight kills. Howery got some help from Willow Simon and her 15 assists.

Ripley's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Winfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7-2 record this season.

Ripley will challenge Sissonville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winfield, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Charleston Catholic on the 4th.
